Privacy Policy

GridWeek ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.

Information We Collect

GridWeek collects minimal information to provide you with the best experience:

• Anonymous Usage Data: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app. This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally.
• Device Information: Basic device information (device type, OS version) to ensure compatibility and improve performance.
• Calendar Access: If you choose to sync events, we access your device calendar. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
• Subscription Data: If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed securely through the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android. We do not have access to your payment details. RevenueCat checks the store receipt on our behalf so your subscription unlocks on every device you sign in on.
• Advertising Identifier: If you see ads, Google AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier. You choose what it may use the first time ads appear, and you can change that choice at any time from Settings.
• Anonymous Account ID: The app signs you in to Firebase anonymously so your settings and your subscription follow you. It is a random identifier. You never give us a name, an email address or a password to create it.
• Leaderboard Name: Podium Predictions are optional. If you play, you choose a display name, and that name is stored in our database and shown publicly to other players on the season leaderboard. It is the only free text you type that leaves your device. Pick a nickname if you would rather not be recognised, and see "Deleting Your Data" below to remove it.
• Crash and Performance Reports: If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a report so we can fix it: what the app was doing, the device model and the OS version. It is not linked to your identity.
• Push Notification Token: If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging gives the app a token so we can send session reminders and schedule changes to your device. Turning notifications off in your device settings stops it.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the app
• To improve user experience
• To process subscriptions
• To send important updates (with your permission)

Data Storage

• All racing event data is stored securely in Firebase Cloud Firestore
• Your personal preferences are stored locally on your device
• We never sell or trade your personal data. What reaches the services listed below is only what each of them needs to do its job.

Third-Party Services

GridWeek uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For data storage and analytics. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements to free users. Google Privacy Policy
• Apple StoreKit and Google Play Billing: For processing payments
• RevenueCat: For checking your subscription receipt and unlocking PRO on your devices. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google): For crash and stability reports.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): For delivering session reminders and schedule changes.
• Firebase Authentication (Google): For the anonymous account that carries your settings and your subscription.

Advertising

GridWeek shows ads to anyone who has not subscribed to GridWeek PRO. They are served by Google AdMob, which may use your advertising identifier, cookies and similar technologies to choose which ads you see.

You are asked what AdMob may use before the first ad appears, and "Ad Privacy Choices" in Settings reopens that form whenever you want to change your answer. Your device settings offer a further opt-out, and subscribing to GridWeek PRO removes the ads entirely.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Ask us what data we hold about you
• Delete your data — the steps are in the next section
• Opt out of personalised advertising, from "Ad Privacy Choices" in Settings
• Cancel your subscription at any time, through the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android

Deleting Your Data

You can do it yourself, in the app, on either phone. If you have already uninstalled GridWeek, write to us instead.

In the app (iPhone and Android). Open GridWeek, go to Settings and tap Delete My Data — on Android it is under Settings › Data › “Delete my data”. It removes your leaderboard display name, your podium predictions and your place on the leaderboard from our servers, and clears every setting, favourite, saved article, cached result and calendar event the app put on your device. It cannot be undone, and the app starts over from the welcome screens. Your subscription is not affected: it stays with Apple or Google, and “Restore purchases” brings it back. Race events GridWeek added to your calendar stay in your calendar — remove them there if you want them gone.

By email, if the app is already gone from your phone. Write to gridweekapp@gmail.com, say you want your GridWeek data deleted, and send it from an address we can reply to. We delete your anonymous account, your leaderboard display name and your podium predictions, and we confirm when it is done. We do this within 30 days, usually much sooner. You do not need an account or a password to ask.

Two things are not ours to delete: your subscription, which is held by Apple or Google and which you cancel in the App Store or Google Play, and anonymous crash and analytics records, which carry no identifier that could tell us which ones are yours.

Children's Privacy

GridWeek does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
